Scorecard

Sat 18th June Bat and Ball League

Chevening won the toss and elected to bat on what looked a good batting wicket. However the early accuracy of the Kemsing openers Brian Baldwin (0 for 24) and David Eades (1 for 27) restricted the visitors. Mark Challis (44) and J Barrowes (35) gradually upped the tempo before Simon Smithers (31 not out) and Simon Baldwin (34 not out) edged Amblers up to 166 for 3 at the close. Kemsing's other successful bowlers were Mick Hafford (1 for 43) and Alan Parry (1 for 27).

The Chevening total looked insufficient as Kemsings openers Grahame Wood (51) and Russell Shipton (34) set about the visitors bowling. After both fell to the bowling of Burkitt (2 for 46) Graham Leno (49) took up the fight with some big hitting before Alan Parry (24 not out) saw the home side ease to a comfortable victory finishing 170 for 3.
